So, I dunno if anyone else watches Idol (WAIT WAIT NO KEEP READING!!!) but last night was the finale. (David won, whoa.) During it, they showed "uncovered footage" of Gladys Knight and her 'new' Pips -- Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey, Jr. It was hilarious! RDJ wasn't trying to be goofy, he was just... well 'smoothe' is the word TBey used to describe it. The vid is on youtube ---
It's as mesmerizing as the damn GQ magazine cover with Downey that someone had to place right at the register at work. Must blame Cody if I ever see him again for all the distracting staring this causes.
INVENTORY AT WORK IS OVER, PRAISE BE HALLELUJAH!!! Now to get back to a more normal, fun schedule.

My Winter-een-mas Goals
To appease the gaming gods, over the next seven days I shall try to do acts suited to each of their l33tness, as they are named in 'A Winter-een-mas Story' (Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7)
   - In honor of Action & Adventure, I shall continue the FF9 game I restarted for at least two hours, get my Zelda game back from Logan, and find my FF12 game for Dad to play. I will also re-install 'Fable' in preparation for Pittco come March.
   - For the master of First-Person shooters, I shall set aside my dislike and attempt 'Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus' for ONE HOUR. No more.
   - The god of Fighting knows I only play his games in certain company, none of which are around anymore, so I vow in the spirit of fighting to kick Kit's arse at Guitar Hero.
   - To Real-Time Strategy, I vow hours of dedication toward 'Sims 2' and a new online game called 'Travian'. This, and, if I am able to make it to WalMart or GameStop, I shall try to find a better computer game based on civilization building, since I like those.
   - My love for Racing shall easily be displayed in the form of advancing at least three ranks on the Blacklist in 'Need for Speed: Most Wanted'.
   - To the goddess of Roleplay, I beg the wisdom and inner-calm to finish my applications at both Fairly and Lost Relics, so that I may further appreciate her genre in latter months. Otherwise it's back to Simming and a dual-appreciation of her and the Real-Time figment.
   - A half-hour of DDR each night shall go to the Sports Guide, since dancing is a sport, and this will also qualify as exercise.
Finally, to make them all smile, I will finally set up the dorm-sized TV and PS2 I bought last year so that my future gaming may be done in the comfort of my own room, simultaneously, DS with PS2 with Computer.
Ownage be with you.

So... it looks like I have returned in a caravan leaving the warzone which is GJ.
For anyone who can still SEE this journal, would you mind deleting me from your friends list, please? Unless, you would like to get back in touch again, in which case, please leave a comment so I do not try to find other means to shorten that huge lump of 'friend of' matter. It's not like we've really said anything to each other in so long, and I'm trying to make as fresh a start of this as I can without having to think up some great and mighty new SN to use (across three journaling systems while we all figure out where the hell we're dropping our suitcases.)
I will be cleaning out all old entries tonight and turning this into a mirror of my CDJ, complete with character lists, etc. Only friends will be able to see other posts.
Thanks.

Ah I promised this post a while ago, and now I have pictures too! Whee!! Totally forgot I'd had them until I went to take some pictures of the SNOW! Yes, we got SNOW! And thatzookid was the first priveledged victim of my internet!snowball attacks of the season.
( Anyway pictures of Angi in costume!!! )
Top Three Notable Moments of the Night: -- Three oh geez they had to be ten year olds were my first customers. They kept pushing each other forward saying "I'm not scared, you go." "No, YOU go!" >D -- A Dorothy actually came by, with her parents and younger brother (dressed as a ducky, so cute.) I demanded the ruby slippers, which she was wearing and she hid behind her Mum (oh the kid was like nine!) but finally relented and said "I'll bide my time. I'll get you my pretty, and your little duck too!" They walked by again about ten minutes later down along the road (my front yard is fairly big) and I had nothing better to do so I called out "That's right Dorothy! Run back over the rainbow!" At least I heard her laughing that time. -- Two older girls came around near the end (probably their last year I'd reckon) and told me I had the "best house yet." I asked how many more they had to go and they said "just the end of the road." I'm the sixth house to the end, with one of them empty, three always just opening the door and handing the candy, and one that doesn't participate, ever. Excellent ego boost to my fun. *Note - Angi loves acting*
BEST Moment of the Night: -- This little band of six/seven year olds came along, about four of them, and one was dressed in a full-out Harry Potter costume. I started to shrink and went "No! Not... Harry Potter!" This kid stepped in front of his friends, drew his little wand at me and said "EXPECTO! PATRONUM!" IT WAS SO FREAKIN CUTE!!!! When I told him he should have been here last year to see Hermione he said "Well I didn't know!" Oh and he had to point his wand at Voldie!scarecrow too. So damn cute.
Afterward I went to the back of the nieghborhood to visit some kids I sit for now and again since they couldn't make it all the way down to our place in the cold. They loved my outfit. Then Dad and I stopped by work with me in costume so I could get my paycheck. One of the guys actually yelped and almost dropped the tub of pepperoni he was carrying. *cackles*
I love Halloween.

I've been working on possible backstories to hopefully play a Marauders Era Lupin one of these days (as I love him dearly), and stumbled upon this idea while talking with my sister. If this is an old and dead debate or discussion topic, forgive me. Also asking for forgiveness if someone's already stumbled upon this idea. It's new to me, so I'm sharing it with the only people I know who might appreciate it.

'You Found Me' - Kelly Clarkson / Digimon AMV |
] |
YouTube has apparently become my new best friend.
I know I've been watching AMVs on there from stuff like Harry Potter for a while, but the other night I found accounts that had clips from shows, then full episodes of shows - the ones I used to watch when I was a kid or in High School. My poison of the moment? Digimon! No, nothing like Pokemon, cept, y'know, the weirdo monsters. I actually liked this series way better. More characters (8 or 13 to be exact) and the monsters were able to speak English (or, well, Japanese I guess.) I found an account where a good number of Season 01 eps are upload and ALL of Season 02, then tonight I found another that has the FULL JAPANESE EPs (meaning stuff like Yamato nearly getting picked up by a hooker aren't taken out) dubbed over into English, but it's the Singapore VAs I think it says. Doesn't matter, the better text is there without all the stupid/funny American humor fillers.
Yes I'm rambling about a subject probably no one cares about but I dun actually care for once. Digimon was my first major fandom, aside from Disney as a whole. It's what got me into Fanfiction and the online fandoming which eventually led me to RPing so y'all better be grateful to this little 'kiddie' Anime show! Or at least the first two seasons of it.
I wonder where that folder is... There's still a few fic ideas that are now jumping out at me again, like the songfic epic, and the 'what if Sam had lived?' rewrite of Season 02, and watching that Dark Ocean ep with the Singapore dubs sparked a new one thanks to those dark things really wanting Kari to 'mother their warriors' and not 'be their queen.' Takari episodes = *love*, as do Wizardmon episodes. I always wanted a Wizardmon....
Maybe all I'm needing is a break from my current main fandom (Harry Potter for those who apparently don't know me very well) to get my mind back on it again? I still can't write worth shit. I get ideas but they all suck. I dunno.
24-some-odd HOURS UNTIL EVERWOOD BEGINS ON ABC FAMILY! WHOO!

"Far Away" - Nickelback |
] |
Everyone needs a post to just rant and not be talked back to now and then. Here's my latest. Most apply to a number of people, not just one, so don't take it personally if it doesn't apply. If it does apply, I just want you to hear me, and if you're mad, fine. Tonight I'm not gonna worry about pissing people off.
To Multiple -- you're smarter than me. I already acknowledge that and have for many years. Stop rubbing it in my face. Yes, you do that, when you correct me in length, repeating yourself over and over when I've already gotten the concept. I'm not completely stupid.
To Multiple - stop trying to force new RP characters and games on me. I have too many right now and really shouldn't join more, but I know I will, because I will think up something for a character I really want to take on, not the ones you want me to because 'I'm such a great player' or 'I come up with great ideas' or 'I'm fun to play with.' Thank you for the compliments, but I will take on a new character when I want to, and it will be the character I want to take on. Not one that I take because you want me to and then s/he just dies because I can't think of anything for them or just don't want to dedicate my time to them. It won't make either of us happy.
To Kit - I know you don't believe me, but you have said you're going to "kill" someone at least once an hour for the past two weeks. It's not a joke anymore. Don't come crying to me when you get into trouble at school for this.
To Multiple - we live in the year 2006. Nothing is going to be completely new under the sun. Deal.
To the Guys of My Hometown - stop hitting on me to get what you want. It won't work. I've never had high self esteem so your flattery is pointless. And to the guy from McDonald's tonight, you don't ask two girls at once if they're single as a pick up line. That never works.
To Multiple - just because I have a day off doesn't mean I'm completely free to do what YOU want me to. It's MY day off, isn't it?! You could at least ask if I had plans and then ask me if I'd like to do something with/for you before you assume I can/will.
To LJ - send me my damn notifications of replies on here!!!
To Myself - stop being so touchy about everything; stop being a lazy arse and attend to your room; stop eating so much; stop hurting your left arm. All those blisters and burn marks and scratches make it look horrible; stop wishing to be something you're not; stop holding the majority of you're anger in just because you're afraid of losing someone you care about. otherwise you'll just explode one day and not in a mere LJ rant.

I love my friend Kira, especially when talking about Harry Potter things.
Like how people could possibly hate Ron.
Me: *stating reasons I've heard before* He's nothing without his friends, not that important.... Kira: Nothing without his friends? Oh, hell. They're nothing without each other. He's the heart, people! Has NO ONE seen Captain Planet? They're nothing without the heart!
Did I also mention she's amusing?
PS - aside from teh 'Wicked' questions I asked in my last post, does anyone know where I can look up some good Harry/Draco fanart/icons/fics? It's for a coworker of mine who once saw a 'beautiful drawing of the Harry kid and that blonde boy' and got really excited when I said "You think there's only ONE artist out there who does that?"

"Main Theme from 'Everwood'" |
] |

The WB's hour-long tv drama, 'Everwood', began four years ago when I was starting my Junior year in HighSchool. It is the story of a world-famous brain surgeon, Dr. Andy Brown, and ultimately the struggles between him and his musically gifted teenage son, Ephram. Right off the bat, Andy loses his wife, whom he has unfortunately neglected over the past several years. Due to a promise he made the love of his life, he picks up his son and young daughter, Delia, and moves them from the splendour of New York City to the charming little town of Everwood, Colorado. It is here that Andy Brown decides to make a new start, set up a family practice, rivaling longtime established town doctor Harold Abbott, try and make up for lost time with his children, and ultimately move on with his life. Ephram, meanwhile, tries to deal with the loss of his mother, having to be uprooted in his Sophomore year, and the pain of falling for Amy Abbott, daughter of the other doctor, who's boyfriend - shining light of Everwood - is in a serious coma.
This is how my favorite show of the past four years began, where the episodes all started, and I don't want them to stop now! 'Everwood' needs my help, our help, if anyone else is a fan, or just cares enough to listen and read. The WB and UPN networks are merging into one, calling themselves The CW, which will begin next Fall, if not sometime over the summer. Several shows have been scrapped, which I can understand, and somehow along the way, 'Everwood' went from a sure thing to a splinter lying on the cutting room floor. We fans refuse to stand for it. This is a good, quality show. My family and I have watched it together ever since the first night, making it a tradition of sorts, to talk and be together without interruption, save a laugh or two at Bright Abbott or Harold's expense. With such an amazing cast and crew of screenwriters, directors, etc, it's a shame this show should end.
If you click on the banner at the top of this post, it will take you to an information page, with links and guides on how to help support the various ideas for how to save the program. Such stunts we are considering are equal to the crazy things fans of shows such as 'Deadwood', 'Roswell', 'Veronica Mars', and 'One Tree Hill' (the latter two being ones which -are- planned for the new CW fall lineup) have pulled off to make their dedication known, and the executives heard!
Help us out, don't help us out, it is ultimately up to you. At least I know I did what I could by posting this message to try and get the word out. SAVE EVERWOOD!

( Firstly, taken from teadragon )
This is mostly for those that live around me, like takinchimera and cluckthechick :
Next Neighborhood Movie Night is being planned for Tuesday, June 20th, and we're gonna go see 'Cars.' Others being invited include Andy, his girlfriend (yes, I said "girlfriend", "his", and "Andy" in the same sentence), Curt and his girlfriend, Amy, Mands, Chris, and you guys. See, this was also gonna be my birthday party of sorts.
However.
I just saw a commercial saying "Click It", that new Adam Sandler movie is coming out on the 23rd. Now since the main manager dude at work said if I want cluckthechick to come with me for a party, I'd better not plan this for a Friday or a Saturday, that means having to go earlier in the week. I could still have that Neighborhood Movie Night be June 20th, but maybe the three of us and anyone else who could come can go see "Click It" another night after the 23rd? I'm trying to plan this ahead of time so we can all ask off.
So, yeah, June 20th for 'Cars', sometime the week after for 'Click It', or what other movies are gonna be out around the 21st?
special_psycho, you're invited to all of these too, if you can get a ride down from the Boro.
Also, if anyone hasn't visited my last post about the PETITION TO SAVE EVERWOOD please do so and join the other 11,400+ siggies! If we don't, then tonight is the last episode ever, and I will cry.

!!PETITION!!
Yeah, I know, these online things never work out, but right now, it's the only shot I can see me being able to try. I doubt a full on attack of the WB studios to capture their president and force them to renew 'Everwood' would really work (not like I'd ever actually try that, anyway.) So yeah, already, over 9,500 people have signed the petition, and the goal is 20,000. There are other ones out there, but this one seems to have the most from what I've seen. If you guys know anyone who might sign it, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let them know about this. I already signed hours ago for my whole family.
And now I'm going to go off and sit with the delusion that this might actually stand a chance of making a difference. Please don't bring me down until next week, after I've watched the finale, season or series.

Series finale?!!
WB said 'Everwood' was going to be on that new merger network thing with UPN. They can't... technically they can... but it's just starting to get good again! They can't end it now! Why...
And here I thought my LJ post would be all happy and cheerful because OMG I GOT TO MEET _kyri today and it was awesome!
But learning the show I was depending on to be my weekly annual show to watch next season is suddenly ending? Is it completely and utterly pathetic that this makes me feel like I just lost a friend?

"Comfort Me" - Tim McGraw |
] |
There's a tradition I started several years ago. When a close relative of a friend passed on, I burned a CD for the family, because I honestly believe that music helps the healing process. It started with a close friend, and only one song, so far back that it was on a cassette tape, because I couldn't burn CDs yet. When another family friend passed on, I did the same. Then my Youth Leader/Confirmation Sponsor/Friend's father passed on, a great man, beloved by all of my hometown. I went to burn the CD, and I added a song, because it just seemed right to do so. Later I heard from that friend that she had gone to listen to it because it helped so much, and she had found it in her son's music player. I didn't need to hear that it had helped, but it's nice to know.
Now it's my turn. My family is going to be the ones receiving the CDs, one for each of Gramma's children and their kids, and one for my home, too. I'll probably make seperate ones for Jay and Ry as well, since they don't live at home anymore, and I'll gladly make another for Sarah if she wants. But I don't just want it to be two songs. This is my Gramma, who we've been told won't make it through the summer, who Mom says looked so much worse for wear just from Mother's Day to this past Monday. If I can get even just six songs together to make the CDs this time around, I'll be happy. But I don't know which songs would be best. I only have certain kinds of music saved, and even then I don't know if they'd be comforting really or not.
So I'm asking you guys for help. Review the choices I've made, tell me if any of them don't sound good enough, or recommend ones to add? My ITunes Music Store won't work, so I don't know how I'd get the songs, but I might have them already in my library somewhere, and just need a memory jog.
Will you guys help?
( The List )
Thanks.
